People walk every day as a form of exercise to stay in shape and to keep themselves healthy. Walking is actually one of the most popular forms of exercise because it is something that is easy to do and something that anyone can do whether they are really fit or not in shape at all. There is no special equipment required to go on a walk, but most people do wear a comfortable pair of tennis shoes so that their feet won’t hurt. You can take a long or short walk; whatever you prefer, but the more you walk the more exercise you will be getting.

While some people think that walking isn’t really an effective way of working out, this is totally false and there are many people that actually do benefit every day and over time from walking.   • Although as mentioned before it is not required of you to buy equipment for walking it is recommended that you get a pedometer. A pedometer is a device that you wear around your waist and it records the distance that you have walked.
  • Next, you could go on walks with a friend. While it is true that walking alone can sometimes give you time to relax and be stress free other times a friend can make the walking experience really fun. A friend can even encourage you on walks.
  • Take routes that have attractive sites so that you don’t become bored on your walk. This is especially good if you need to take your mind off of negativity. Walk through parks or busy areas where there’s lots to see and do!
